New Baby Gift Etiquette - What to Give (And What Not To!)

by Alexandra Sernet on May 07 2026
The arrival of a new baby is very much an event worth celebrating, and picking the perfect gift can make the occasion even more special. But with so many options out there, it can be tricky to know what will truly delight the new parents. To help, we’ve put together a friendly guide on new baby gift etiquette, highlighting what to give (and what not to). Gifts That Are Always Appreciated When it comes to new baby gifts, the ones that truly make an impact are those that combine practicality, thoughtfulness, and a touch of 'oh that's gorgeous' sentiment. Successful gifts often fall into a few key categories: items that make life easier for parents, keepsakes that capture memories, or something cozy and comforting for the little one. Essentials like soft blankets, high-quality onesies, or gentle bath products are always welcomed because they’re useful every single day. Thoughtful touches, however, are what elevate a gift from practical to cherished. Personalised items, beautifully designed nursery decor, or items that mark a baby’s milestones show that you put extra consideration into the gift. A perfect example that blends affection and practicality are the All My Firsts prints from My Baby Days. These prints let parents capture 50 beautiful “firsts”, from 'my first bath' to ' to 'my first haircut', in a way that becomes a unique lasting keepsake. Unlike many gifts that might be outgrown or tucked away, milestone prints grow in meaning over time, serving as a beautiful reminder of the early years and the special moments that make parenthood so memorable. Ultimately, gifts that combine usefulness, thoughtfulness, and longevity are the ones parents truly appreciate. They’re the kind of presents that not only bring joy in the moment but continue to be meaningful for years to come. Gifts to Approach with Caution Even the best-intentioned gifts can sometimes miss the mark. Clothing in unusual sizes or impractical designs, for instance, can be frustrating because babies grow so quickly, and parents very often already have plenty of outfits in a range of sizes. Toys or gadgets that aren’t age-appropriate can be more stressful than fun, leaving parents wondering what to do with them - especially if they are short on storage space. Highly personalised or overly niche gifts also carry the risk of missing the mark if the item doesn’t suit the parents’ style or needs. In general, gifts that are practical, timeless, or affectionately meaningful are the safest. Choosing a new baby gift that will be genuinely used and cherished ensures your present leaves a positive impression. Milestone prints, keepsake items, and thoughtful essentials consistently stand out because they combine usefulness with lasting significance, making them gifts that parents really appreciate. Timing and Presentation When giving a gift, timing and presentation can be just as important as the gift itself. Baby showers, hospital visits, or the first visit home are all common occasions for gift-giving, and each carries its own expectations. Planning ahead and understanding when and how to present a gift can help ensure it is received warmly.  Select from My Baby Days New Baby Gift collection for gifts that can de delivered directly to new parents together with a handwritten gift card. Presentation also plays an important role in making a present memorable. A beautifully wrapped gift or a thoughtfully delivered item adds to the sense of occasion and shows that you care. Services that offer direct delivery and even include a handwritten gift card can take the stress out of presenting a gift while still making it personal. These touches help your gift feel meaningful and special without adding extra pressure for the parents. Special Circumstances While many gift-giving guidelines apply to most newborns, certain situations call for extra thought. For example, parents of premature babies may have unique needs. Premature infants often require smaller clothing, specialised blankets, or gentle care products designed for sensitive skin. Thoughtful new baby gifts that accommodate these needs, will be particularly appreciated, as they help parents navigate a more delicate and sometimes stressful early period. Families welcoming multiples, such as twins or triplets, face a different set of challenges. With double or triple the diapers, clothing, and gear, parents may feel overwhelmed by sheer logistics. Gifts that are practical, easy to use for more than one child, or thoughtfully coordinated for multiples are particularly valuable. One beautiful option is the Twins and Triplets milestone prints from My Baby Days. These prints allow each child’s milestones to be celebrated individually while keeping a coordinated, stylish look. Parents can select matching or complementary designs, creating a timeless keepsake that documents each baby’s firsts side by side. A unique gift which will capture the individual 'first' of each baby. In these special circumstances, thoughtful and practical gifts go a long way. Choosing something that acknowledges the unique challenges of premature babies or multiples not only helps parents in the moment but also creates a meaningful, lasting memory for their growing family. All Wrapped Up  Choosing a new baby gift doesn’t need to be stressful. By focusing on thoughtfulness, practicality, and timelessness, you can select a gift that parents will genuinely appreciate. Gifts like the All My Firsts prints are particularly special because they celebrate the baby’s milestones while providing keepsakes that grow in meaning over time. Ultimately, it’s the care and consideration behind a gift that leaves the most lasting impression, reminding new parents that they are supported and celebrated during this extraordinary new chapter of their lives.

Baby Shower Etiquette - What to Expect

by Alexandra Sernet on Mar 19 2026
A baby shower is a special celebration that brings friends and family together to share in the excitement of welcoming a new baby. Whether you’ve been invited as a guest, are hosting the event, or are the parent-to-be, understanding a few simple etiquette guidelines can help the day run smoothly and ensure everyone feels comfortable and included. An celebration import from the U.S., baby showers are increasingly popular in the UK. In this guide, we’ll walk through what typically happens at a baby shower, what guests are expected to do, and how to choose a thoughtful gift for the occasion. What Is a Baby Shower? A baby shower is a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the upcoming arrival of a baby and support the parents-to-be. Traditionally organised by a close friend, family member or work colleague rather than the parents themselves, the event usually takes place during the final trimester. The main purpose of a baby shower is to “shower” the parents with love, encouragement, and gifts for when their baby arrives. If you're attending a baby shower and wondering what type of present to bring, My Baby Days has you covered with their thoughtfully designed Baby Shower Gifts collection Who Hosts the Baby Shower? Traditionally, a baby shower is organised by someone close to the parents-to-be, such as a best friend, sibling, or another family member. It's not unusual for a small group of friends to come together to host the celebration, sharing the planning and responsibilities to create a memorable event. The intention is simply to celebrate the upcoming arrival of the baby while surrounding the parents-to-be with support and excitement. In the past, etiquette suggested that immediate family members shouldn’t host a baby shower themselves, as it could appear as though they were directly asking for gifts.  Modern baby showers are much more relaxed and flexible. Today, it’s perfectly common for sisters, cousins, or even the grandparents-to-be to organise the celebration. Ultimately, the most important thing is that the event is arranged by someone who cares about the family and wants to help create a special occasion. It’s also increasingly common for work colleagues to organise a baby shower at work. These office celebrations are usually smaller and more informal, often taking place during a lunch break or after work. They give colleagues the chance to celebrate the expectant parent, present a group gift, and wish them well before they begin their maternity or paternity leave. Whoever takes on the role of host is typically responsible for planning the details of the event. This usually includes sending out invitations, organising the food and decorations, and planning any games or activities that will take place during the shower. The host may also arrange a space for guests to place their gifts and help ensure the event runs smoothly so the parents-to-be can simply relax and enjoy the celebration. When Do Baby Showers Usually Take Place? Most baby showers are held between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. This timing works well because not only is the pregnancy well established, but it's not close enough to the end to risk early labour. If parents choose to find out the baby's gender, they usually know by this time, so this can be announced before or even during the shower. What Happens at a Baby Shower? While every baby shower is unique and often reflects the personality of the parents-to-be, most celebrations follow a similar relaxed structure. The focus is usually on spending time together, sharing excitement about the new arrival, and celebrating this special stage of life. Here’s what typically happens during a baby shower. 1. Arrival and Welcome As guests arrive, they are usually greeted by the host and the parents-to-be. This is often a relaxed time where people can mingle, introduce themselves, and catch up with friends and family. Since guests may come from different parts of the parents’ lives, be it family, school friends, neighbours, and colleagues, this informal start can help everyone feel comfortable. Guests typically bring a gift for the baby, which is placed on a designated table or display area. Many hosts like to decorate the gift table with themed decorations or signage to match the overall baby shower theme. During this time, guests may also be offered a welcome drink such as tea, coffee, a non-alcoholic mocktail or prosecco. This is where the theme can really add to the shower creating a warm relaxed vibe. 2. Food and Drinks Food is usually a central part of a baby shower and tends to be simple, sociable, and easy to enjoy while chatting. Many baby showers are organised as an afternoon gathering, so you’ll often find an afternoon tea-style spread with sandwiches, cakes, pastries, and sweet treats. Cupcakes and biscuits decorated with baby-themed designs are also a popular choice. Some showers are hosted as brunches or light lunches, particularly if they take place earlier in the day. In these cases, the menu might include items like salads, quiches, fruit platters, and baked goods. Drinks are typically non-alcoholic in consideration of the expectant parent, with options like sparkling juices, flavoured lemonades, and mocktails adding a celebratory touch. The food portion of the event is usually relaxed and informal, allowing guests to continue chatting and getting to know one another while enjoying the refreshments. 3. Games and Activities Love them or loathe them, baby shower games and activities are a long-standing tradition and help bring guests together in a fun and light-hearted way. Not every baby shower includes games, but many hosts do choose to include a few simple activities to keep the event fun and memorable. Popular baby shower games often revolve around guessing or baby-related trivia. Think  'guess the baby’s birth date' or even weight. Other popular activities are baby-themed quizzes, decorating baby bibs, or guessing the flavour of different baby foods. These activities often spark laughter and even friendly competition amongst the guests. Some showers also include keepsake activities, such as writing thoughtful messages or advice for the parents-to-be, which can be placed in a memory box or baby book. These contributions often become treasured mementos for the family in the years to come. 4. Opening Gifts One of the most anticipated moments is when the parents-to-be open their presents. Guests often enjoy seeing what thoughtful or personalised gifts guests have chosen. As gifts are opened, guests often gather around to see what has been chosen for the new baby. Presents typically include a mix of practical items, such as clothing, blankets, and nursery essentials, as well as sentimental keepsakes that mark the baby’s arrival. Hosts like to keep track of who gave each gift so that the parents can later send personalised thank-you notes. Gift opening is often a heartwarming part of the day, as it highlights the love and support surrounding the growing family. It’s also a chance for the parents-to-be to share their excitement and appreciation with the friends and family who have gathered to celebrate with them. If you're looking for a gift which will bring the 'wow' factor at a baby shower, check out My Baby Days Baby Shower Gifts collection for a range of truly unique baby shower gifts. Select from award-winning baby milestone prints or sweet keepsake cushions. Baby Shower Etiquette for Guests If you’ve been invited to a baby shower, following a few simple etiquette guidelines can help ensure the day runs smoothly for both the host and the parents-to-be. One of the most important things to do is respond to the invitation promptly. Hosts usually need to make plans for food, seating, and activities based on the number of guests attending, so confirming whether you can attend as soon as possible makes the organisation so much easier. Arriving on time is also considered good etiquette. Baby showers often follow a loose schedule that may include games, gift opening, or group activities, and arriving at the beginning ensures you don’t miss any of the key moments. It also allows the parents-to-be to properly greet everyone before the event gets truly underway. During the shower, guests are usually encouraged to take part in the activities that have been organised. Even if baby shower games aren’t normally your 'thing', joining in helps create a friendly atmosphere and shows appreciation for the effort the host has put into planning the celebration. Finally, it’s important to keep the focus on the parents-to-be. Pregnancy can be both exciting and tiring, so maintaining a warm, supportive, and positive vibe throughout the event helps ensure the day feels enjoyable and extra special for them. After the Baby Shower Once the celebration has taken place, it’s usual for the parents-to-be to send thank-you notes to the guests who attended and brought gifts. These messages are a lovely way to acknowledge the support and generosity shown by friends, family, and colleagues during such an important and exciting time. A thank-you note will usually include a personal message saying thank you for attending the baby shower, along with a mention of any specific gift that was given. Many parents also like to include a short comment about why it means something to them, which helps make the message feel more personal and heartfelt.

Looking beyond birth, there is a print dedicated to weaning and 'all my first' fruits and vegetables. This colourful print gives parents not only a keepsake of their child's first adventures in foods, but a fun way to interact with baby as they set about all of those new tastes. Beyond the toddler stage? The 'My Big world of Firsts' focuses on the years around 2 to 7 year olds. A lovely keepsake of those older milestones from 'My first disco' to 'My first sports day' Did you know that in France turning 7 is seen as reaching the 'age of reason'? - Alex, founder & designer of My Baby Days The Gift That Keeps Giving It’s perhaps no surprise that these prints are a favourite gift among new parents and baby shower guests alike. They strike the perfect balance between thoughtful and practical; a gift that’s not just something to unwrap, but something that grows in meaning with every milestone. From the moment they are displayed in the nursery, they become a living part of daily life, celebrating each “first” in real time. As parents date-stamp each memory, these prints transform from a simple decorative piece into a chronicle of joy, wonder, and discovery. When a print is complete, it can be carefully rolled into its keepsake tube, preserving these moments for a lifetime. Years later, it can be revisited, shared, and treasured, allowing parents and children alike to relive the magic of those unforgettable first years. It’s a gift that truly keeps giving, capturing fleeting moments, adding beauty to the nursery, and becoming a cherished family heirloom for generations to come it's no surprise this is the brand every parent is reaching for.

Your Complete Guide to Baby Weaning

Your Complete Guide to Baby Weaning

by Alexandra Sernet on Jul 22 2025
Starting your weaning journey with your little one is such an exciting milestone! As parents, we understand you might feel a mix of emotions – excitement, nervousness, and maybe even a touch of sadness as your baby takes their first steps toward solid foods. Let's walk through this adventure together! When to Wean a Baby According to the NHS and UK Department of Health guidelines, you should start weaning around 6 months of age. Before this, your baby is developing so they can cope with solid foods when the time is right. Consider the following a checklist. Is a baby… Sitting upright and holding head steady Coordinating eyes, hands, and mouth Swallowing food, instead of pushing it out Picking up food and moving it to their mouth? Every baby is different, so watch for these signs of readiness rather than focusing solely on age. On a personal note, all of our babies had bad reflux and we were advised to start weaning a little earlier than 6 months to ease this. So it goes without saying, it’s always a good idea to consult with your healthcare professional before starting weaning, especially if you're considering starting before 6 months.  After all, they are the experts who will have guided hundreds of parents! How to Wean a Baby Let the fun begin! The transition to solid foods is a gradual process that requires patience and observation. Start by offering small amounts once a day, when your baby is alert and happy – ideally between milk feeds. Remember, those first few attempts might look more like a messy art project than mealtime! At the beginning your baby will still be getting most of their nutrition from their regular milk intake so first steps are really about getting them used to the idea of food.  Did you know - your baby might push food out with their tongue at first – this is a natural reflex that will gradually disappear as they learn to eat.   Record every food milestone with our ‘all my first’ weaning print   What foods to wean your baby on? From our experience weaning our own children, we know how important it is to offer a range of nutritious first foods so we called on an expert Nutritional Therapist to give us their qualified advice on what foods to start with on the weaning journey. Over to Mariana Sheppard BA(Hons), DipCNM, mBANT, CNHC,  a registered Nutritional Therapist and part of the NatureDoc clinical team with a special interest in baby, toddler and children's cognitive and mental health... 'Starting your baby on solid foods, is a big milestone! One which can feel bothexciting and a little daunting at the same time. But what foods should you start with? Single vegetables for the first 2 weeks of the process offered as purées or soft finger foods (or a mixture!), are a great place to start. While sweet vegetables like carrot and sweet potato are popular first tastes and should be included, there’s real benefit in trying slightly bitter vegetables earlier on. Think broccoli, spinach, kale or courgette, before moving on to things like swede, avocados or butternut squash. This is because babies are naturally drawn to sweet flavours (breast milk is sweet), so introducing more savoury or earthy tastes early helps them get used to a wider range of flavours. Babies who experience these flavours often are more likely to enjoy vegetables as they grow. Once your baby has explored single tastes, you can start experimenting with combinations and adding different food groups together, such as mixing salmon with potatoes. You can also begin to gently introduce herbs and spices like parsley, dill or mild paprika to make dishes more interesting and help your little one develop a love for varied flavours right from the start. The importance of iron-rich foods At around 6 months, your baby’s natural iron stores start to decrease, so this means it’s especially important to include iron-rich foods in their diet to support healthy growth and energy. Good first sources of iron include:• Soft cooked meats like chicken (the brown meat is richer in iron than chicken breast)• Lentils and beans (well-cooked and mashed)• Eggs (well cooked, offered in small pieces or mashed)• Dark green vegetables like spinach Including these alongside fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C (peppers, broccoli, berries or citrus fruit) can help the body absorb iron more effectively. Exploring textures matters too As your baby becomes more confident, it’s also important to gradually move from smooth purees to mashed foods, soft lumps, and finger foods. This helps develop chewing skills, and encourages babies to explore food in a hands-on way. By around 7-8 months, most babies can handle a wider range of textures and flavours andhopefully by this point you’ll have also gained some confidence. Remember that all babies are different though and go at different pace. Keep offering new foods - little ones often need to try a food up to 10 times or more before accepting it. Above all, enjoy the journey! Weaning is about exploration and fun, helping your little one build positive experiences with food that will set them up for healthy habits for years to come.' Find out more about Mariana Sheppard here. What is Baby-Led Weaning? Baby-led weaning is an approach where you skip purees altogether and let your baby feed themselves finger foods right from the start. Instead of spoon-feeding, you offer soft, finger-sized pieces of food that your baby can grasp and explore independently. This method helps develop hand-eye coordination and chewing skills early on, while letting your baby control how much they eat. Experts recommend serving softly cooked veg the size and shape of an adult finger. Once this is mastered, you can offer tofu strips, shredded chicken and egg yolks. Just remember to always supervise your baby during meals and ensure food pieces are soft enough to squish between your fingers. Celebrating Inchstones: The Beautiful Little Wins That Tell Your Baby's Story

by Alexandra Sernet on Jul 03 2025
When it comes to watching your baby grow, we often hear about milestones, those major developmental moments like taking a first step or saying a first word. But what about the tiny, magical steps that happen in between? These are 'inchstones', the small but significant achievements that deserve just as much love and celebration. At My Baby Days, we believe it’s these moments that truly tell the story of your baby’s journey. That’s why we’ve created our signature 'All My Firsts' range of prints, featuring 50 sweet inchstones to help you capture those fleeting, heart-warming occasions.  What Are Inchstones? Inchstones are the little developmental steps that lead up to bigger milestones. We like to think of them as the building blocks of growth. They might seem small at the time, but together, they form a meaningful timeline of your baby’s development. Some of the inchstones we celebrate with our 'All My First' prints include: 'My first night by myself'  'My first party' 'My first ice cream' 'My first swim' Each of these moments are joyous and deserve recognition, as well as being recorded to look back on. 'All My Firsts' inchstone prints by My Baby Days Inchstones vs. Milestones: What’s the Difference? The main difference lies in scale: Milestones are the major markers: first steps, first words, sleeping through the night. Inchstones are the subtle (and we think cuter) moments and smaller skills that often lead to those milestones. Both are important. But inchstones highlight the steady, beautiful progress that happens every single day. They’re a powerful reminder that every baby develops at their own pace, and that growth is worth celebrating at every stage. How to Celebrate and Record Your Baby's Inchstones We believe inchstones should be just as cherished as milestones. Here are some great ways to honour them: Use a Keepsake Poster Our 'All My Firsts' range of prints is thoughtfully designed to capture 50 meaningful inchstones every parent will recognise and cherish. From “My first time on a swing” to “My first haircut,” each moment is a joyful milestone in your baby’s unique journey. Simply stamp the date and check them off as they happen. Display your print as beautiful nursery art in our elegant oak frame, and when complete, roll it into the keepsake tube to preserve those precious memories for years to come. Thoughtful, timeless, and made to treasure, we like to think we’ve thought of everything! It’s the perfect gift for new parents; thoughtful, practical, and deeply sentimental. 'All My Firsts' inchstone prints by My Baby Days Celebrate Together Inchstones are even more meaningful when shared. Celebrating those little moments together brings everyone closer to your baby’s journey. Snap a quick photo of your latest inchstone from your All My Firsts print and post it on social media or share it in on email with friends and family…because every little "first" is worth a big smile. 'All My Firsts' inchstone prints by My Baby Days Create a Monthly Ritual Set a date each month to reflect on your baby’s progress. Fill in a few inchstones on your poster, print out some photos, and relive the moments. It’s a calming, meaningful way to see how far your little one has come.

Baby Milestones in the First 3 Months: What To Expect, Fun Facts and Top Tips

by Alexandra Sernet on Feb 06 2025
Welcome to your baby's first milestones! Think of these as your little one's personal highlight reel – those magical "first" moments that have you excited to capture and record every smile, wiggle, and coo. From their first attempts at rolling over to those heart-melting social smiles, these developments are your baby's way of showing off their growing skills. While healthcare professionals use these baby milestones to check that everything's on track, they're really more like loose guidelines than strict rules – after all, every baby is their own tiny individual! Some babies might be champion rollers while others take their sweet time, and that's totally okay. Whether your little one is right on schedule, taking their time, or even skipping some steps altogether (hello, baby who went straight to walking!), what matters most is that they're making progress in their own unique way. We found that the first three months of our babies lives flew by in a whirlwind of high emotion and little sleep! However, in amongst the chaos of nappies, feeding, and adapting to a totally new way of life, your baby will experience some of our favourite first baby milestones. The First Three Months: Your Baby's Adventure Begins! Get ready for an incredible journey through your baby's first three months! From wobbly head lifts to those first precious smiles, let's explore what you might see your little one achieving. Remember, every baby is unique, and these timeframes are just rough guides – your little superstar will develop at their own perfect pace! Moving and Grooving (Physical Development)  Those tiny muscles are getting stronger every day! Around 2 months, you'll notice your little one starting to lift their head during tummy time (even if it's just for a few seconds!). By 3 months, they're typically becoming quite the mini athlete – pushing up during tummy time, kicking those legs like they're training for the baby Olympics, and discovering their hands are actually part of their body (cue endless face-grabbing!). You might even spot them swiping at hanging toys, though their aim might need a bit of work! Did you know - Tummy time develops your baby’s visual skills as they can see the world at eye level rather than just the ceiling! Top Tip - give your baby some tummy time from birth. Starting with just a few minutes a couple of times a day and building this over the coming weeks. This tummy time helps with physical development, learning about movement. Remember to always supervise your baby when they’re on their tummy and make it fun by getting on their level face-to-face. Becoming a Social Butterfly (Social and Emotional Development)  Here's where the real heart-melting moments begin! Around 2 months, get ready for those first proper smiles (and no, it's not just wind!). Your baby will start to recognise your face and might even try to 'chat' with some adorable coos and gurgles. By 3 months, they can be proper little performers – smiling spontaneously, trying to copy your expressions, and maybe even getting a bit dramatic when playtime ends. Those early 'conversations' of babbles and giggles are just the beginning of your lifelong chats! Did You Know? Your baby can recognise your voice from the day they're born! During those 9 months in the womb, they were already tuning into your conversations, which is why they often calm down when they hear their parents speaking. Even more fascinating - babies are born with a preference for their native language's rhythm and can actually distinguish between their mother tongue and foreign languages! Top Tip - I loved doing this with both my children - the "Mirror Game"! Hold them in front of a mirror and pull different expressions - stick out your tongue, smile wide, or make gentle sounds. Not only will this help develop their social skills and facial recognition, but it's also a fantastic bonding activity. Plus, babies often find their mirror image fascinating, and you might get some amazing giggles out of it!  Don't forget to capture all your baby's firsts with our 'All My Firsts' prints Brain Power (Cognitive Development) Your baby's brain is like a tiny sponge, soaking up everything! At 2 months, they're fascinated by faces and might follow you around the room with their eyes (yes, they're definitely watching you!). By 3 months, they're typically showing off their growing intelligence – tracking moving objects, recognising familiar faces from further away, and even showing preferences for different toys. You might notice they're becoming a bit pickier about strangers too – that's their brain learning to distinguish between familiar and new faces! Did You Know? Your baby's brain is incredibly busy - it doubles in size in the first year of life and reaches about 80% of adult size by age three! Even more amazing, every second, your baby is forming around one million new neural connections. These connections are strengthened through everyday experiences like your touch, voice, and even simple games of peek-a-boo! Top Tip - Try creating a "Contrasting Corner"! Make a special area with high-contrast items (think black and white patterns or strong colour contrasts) in your baby's line of sight during awake times. This could be as simple as a striped blanket or some bold pattern cards. In these early months, babies see high-contrast images most clearly, and this kind of visual stimulation helps develop their attention span and cognitive processing. Just remember to switch up the patterns every few days to keep it interesting! Etta Loves black and white blanket 5 Further Ways To Support Your Baby’s Development from Birth to 3 Months Talk and Sing Constantly - encourage language and listening skills by narrating your day, singing nursery rhymes and mimic their coos and babbles. Babies love to hear your voice! Encourage Grasping - to develop motor skills. Offer baby rattles, soft toys or your finger to grasp. You can also hang toys just within reach during tummy time. Go Outside - to stimulate senses. Take baby for a stroller walk or sit in the shade outdoors. Let them feel the breeze, listen to birds and watch the leaves move. Introduce Textures - to develop tactile senses. Gently touch their hands and feet with different fabrics, like a soft blanket, a smooth scarf, or a sponge. Peek-a-Boo - to boost their social and emotional development. Hide behind your hands, a blanket, or a nearby object and then “reappear” with a smile and a gentle “boo!” Top Tip - remember to capture all your baby milestones with our ‘All My First Prints’. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your little one changes!   Sources: NHS Start4Life (www.nhs.uk/start4life) NHS Buckinghamshire (https://www.buckshealthcare.nhs.uk/cyp/pifs/fun-ways-to-play/) Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) developmental guidelines The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) UCL (University College London) Institute of Education The NHS Birth to Five Book NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence)  The Royal College of Occupational Therapists'  UNICEF UK Early Years Brain Development Research Centre for Child, Adolescent and Family Research, University of Cambridge  First 1001 Days Movement UK research papers Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Remember: While this guide is based on typical development patterns, every baby is unique. Winning this award means we've truly connected with the parents we aim to support. Junior Design Awards - Award for Best Interiors (Decoration) The Junior Design Awards, known for their prestigious recognition of excellence in children's products, recognised our milestone prints in their Best Interiors (Decoration) category. The judges praised their beautiful illustrations and clever design, noting:  "These beautiful milestone prints were much praised by our judges who felt they would make the perfect gift for a new baby. The sweet illustrations recording cherished moments in a child's life really resonated with the panel who loved the clever inclusion of a dinky ink date stamp with each print, really elevating the whole process of recording precious memories." We were particularly delighted by model and broadcaster Daisy Lowe's comment, describing our prints as "Such pretty illustrations." These awards reflect our unwavering dedication to creating gifts that are not just beautiful, but meaningful and treasured by families. Our Baby Show Adventures  We absolutely loved meeting so many of you at The Baby Shows in London and Manchester this year! Whether we were at ExCeL, Olympia or Manchester Grand Central, these shows gave us the chance to do something we truly enjoy—showing our milestone prints in person and chatting about those precious moments parents can't wait to capture. It's always exciting when someone we meet at a show later pops up online, selecting our prints as gifts for friends and family. These personal connections mean everything to us, and hearing your stories about your favourite milestones is the best bit!. All those 5 star reviews! It’s always great to hear your feedback so in your words here are just a few… First impressions, really nice quality and then how cute is this! Will definitely be ordering again. Anon Fantastic Idea! Memories to cherish forever I love the thought behind these products. So much easier for parents to keep track of milestones and not have to cut things out and remember to write about them. So easy and looks beautiful on the wall. A memory we can cherish forever and look back on. Mia Met these ladies at The Baby Show and they were lovely. They explained their products and what was included. They are beautifully designed, artworked and presented and we now have both, the 'baby firsts' and the weaning print. Baby isn't due until February, but I already can't wait to use it and have it hung in the nursery! Holly H Seeing our prints in your home We know from our countless 5-star reviews that you love our prints, but nothing beats seeing them hanging in your nurseries. Pampering for the mum-to-be Every mum-to-be deserves some well-earned pampering during the often overwhelming journey of pregnancy. Help her relax and recharge with the ultimate indulgence, such as a rejuvenating spa day or a soothing pregnancy massage tailored to her needs. These thoughtful experiences can relieve the physical and emotional stresses that come with pregnancy, promoting overall well-being and tranquillity. Halloween is a holiday that often stirs strong opinions. Some see it as a fun celebration, while others may prefer to overlook this stateside tradition. Nonetheless, if you are a parent of a very young baby, whether an infant or a few months old, you might be looking forward to celebrating their first Halloween together. To help you prepare for this special occasion and mark your baby's first Halloween on your My Baby Days 'All My Firsts' milestones print, we've gathered some cute first costume ideas for you:1. Adorable Pumpkin  For a classic costume, dress your baby as an adorable pumpkin. A soft and comfortable onesie with a pumpkin-shaped hood will make everyone smile. If your baby can sit up unaided, you can even create a real pumpkin seat.   Photo @goodmorning_mrs_g Photo @ylisa_torres Photo @_deuxpetits_onze 2. Witch or Wizard in the Making  Transform your baby into a budding witch or wizard with a little black dress and a pointed hat. Opt for a foam wand to complete the enchanting look.   Photos @amandine_etsesminis 3. Funny Foods  Let your creativity run wild by turning your baby into a variety of funny foods.
